PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – The Philippine’s economic programs will be heard in the Association of South East Asian Nations’ World Economic Forum (WEF) which begins on May 10 to 12.
President Duterte will speak in front of over 620 people on the forum today, which will be conducted for the first time in Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
Duterte’s team or “Dutertenomics” as they call it was only formed last month. Its primary goals are affixed with the rule of law and focused on creating more infrastructures in the country, which is emphasized in their “Build, Build, Build” slogan.
President Duterte will probably come back to the country for the meeting with the investors and CEOs as a part of activities of WEF.
As the chair of 2017 ASEAN Convention, President Duterte will also give his stands about Asia’s achievements and difficulties. He is scheduled to speak about those ASEAN concerns today before the WEF members.
Other world leaders aside from Duterte will also attend the forum such as Laos Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and also the president of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun.
This year’s WEF-ASEAN forum will be attended by research experts, political and business leaders, and the civil society from all around the globe.
The Philippine president is also scheduled to have a separated meeting to the CEOs who will participate in the WEF.
The foundation of WEF was first formed in the year 1971. They are operating as a non-profit organization with command centers in Geneva, Switzerland. Their annual meetings are held in Davos, Switzerland. However, they are also organizing regional meetings in Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Latin America, Europe, and Africa.
The forum was previously held in Kuala Lumpur last year before it was organized now in Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
