Philippine Stock Exchange: Wrap-Up Report – December 21, 2016

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Stock Exchange Index recovered some ground after being hammered downwards for the past few days. The index was higher by 27.70 points or 0.42 percent to close at 6,686.36.

Of all the sectors, only industrial and property sectors were in the red. The service sector was the top performer as it closed higher by 1.54 percent. TEL was 2.77 percent higher to close at 1,336. Globe was also slightly higher to close at 1,445.

As to the property sector, MEG continued its run. It is up for two days straight to close at 3.64, which is higher by 5.51 percent. SMPH remained unchanged at 27.25.

URC registered the highest value turnover totaling P422 million but closed relatively flat. MPI was also heavy for the day with a value turnover of P380.5 million. JFC continued to slide to close at P190, down 2.57 percent.

Top gainers with volume include NRCP at +10.53 percent, OV at +8.13 percent, CAL at +7.73 percent, MRSGI at +7.05 percent, MEG at+ 5.51 percent, and DFNN at +5.39 percent.

Top losers with volume include SMC at -4.14 percent, LBC at -3.27 percent, and NI at -2.70 percent.

Today’s total turnover value totaled P5.28 billion.

On a 30-day trading period, PSEi is on a Net Foreign Selling worth PHP21,989,407,000.00.
